What Drew Us to Voyager K9 Apparel

Before I owned Flik, I had a pit bull hound mix that had a very deep chest. It was always hard to find jackets that fit her well and didn't cause any rubbing or irritation on her body. While I loved the brand we used at the time and was considering using them again for Flik, I didn't love the idea that the jacket wouldn't be ideal for his body shape.

If you didn't know, German Shorthaired Pointers can have some pretty deep chests, and not only that, but they tend to be a leaner dog. So I started to research different companies that make dog jackets and found Voyager K9 Apparel! One of my favorite things about them is the fact that they make jackets based on your dog's breed. This way, you can choose a coat that is going to fit your dog's body type and not worry about it rubbing in spots that other jackets might.

How to Size Your Dog

Everyone at the Voyager K9 team is super helpful when it comes to figuring out the sizing for your dog. They have multiple resources on their website to explain how to properly size your dog before placing your order, and you can also do custom sizing so you can ensure the product you're ordering will fit exactly to your dog's needs.

When I first reached out to them about sizing with Flik, since he was still only a couple of months old, they were great about helping figure out what sizes would fit him best. Flik started out as a beagle-sized large in most of the tummy warmers and the winter coat.

As he got older, the team was amazing and helped us navigate his growth spurts and figuring out new sizing in that would be the best fit. Each time we were very impressed with how adaptable their coats were for a growing dog and their unique selection of sizes helped a ton during his early puppy stages.

Comfort, Mobility, and Durability

Flik is a very active dog, and one of my priorities with jackets is that he would be able to run around comfortably and not be restricted in movement because of the jackets. Voyager K9 has been great in allowing him to have as many snow zoomies and run around like a mad puppy and never once have I seen him struggle because of the jackets.

They are easy to put on and take off of your dog and have a nice soft feel on the inside and a very durable outside fabric. Flik has run through trees, grazed his back on rocks, rolled around in snow and sand while wearing all of his voyager gear and never once did it tear or get any sort of damage.

All of the Voyager K9 coats that we have used are also incredibly easy to clean. With the raincoat, typically a wet cloth wipes away in mud and dirt and then if it gets really dirty, I tend to wash and air dry all of the coats and they don't shrink, and the quality still holds up. The fabric does not fray or change in how it feels after washing.

Coats for a Lifetime

These jackets have always adapted to every adventure that we go on and time and time again we are always impressed by the quality and comfort that they provide for a Flik.

We never worry about them, causing any discomfort and it allows him to explore and go crazy in any environment. I also love that you can layer the jackets and even in doing so they don't get bulky or uncomfortable for your dog.

We are forever in love with Voyager K9, and their amazing team and will be using them for a lifetime.
